Our monthly French conversation class is pretty informal and though we are mixed ability none is an expert. Fortunately, our group leader is a native speaker whose feedback makes even my wild attempts useful to the others.

Talking about French culture and often about cooking in general provides a focus for our conversations and we then agree a target for learning certain phrases or structures. Nothing is set in stone and each month we agree what we will focus on at the next meeting.

We always have time for tea, coffee and biscuits, and time to chat about books we are reading, plays or films seen, and places to visit. It is relaxed but I have improved so much in the year I have been coming. You don’t need to bring anything, several of us share dictionaries so come along and add to our group.
